Walgreens (WAG) To Roll Out Aerovironment (AVAV) Electric Car Charging Stations In Houston

With the electric car revolution ramping up next year, comes a need for charging stations in convenient locations such as grocery stores.  It was recently announced that Walgreen’s (WAG) will be one of the first large retail chains to offer that convenience by adding EV charging stations next year.  In a partnership with NRG Energy (NRG), the company will provide 18 fast charge EV stations made by Aerovironment (AVAV) around the Houston area.  For a 10 minute charge, the DC rapid chargers will add 30 miles in range.  The fast chargers will also be included at a few Best Buys, HEB grocery stores and Spec’s liquor stores.  The program is part of NRG Energy’s eVgo Network which aims to launch over 100 charging stations throughout Houston early next year.
