Fuel Systems Solutions (FSYS) Hammered After Big Earnings Miss

Fuel Systems Solutions (FSYS) is down more than 25% after reporting an EPS of just .04/share which missed estimates by .38/share and represents an 87% plunge from the year ago quarter.  Revenues were equally disappointing at $84 million which is nearly flat growth over the year ago quarter.

Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) Reports Wider Loss

Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) reported sub par results after the bell today, reporting a non GAAP EPS loss of .09/share which is considerably wider than the .02/share loss in the year ago quarter.  Revenues were flat over the year ago quarter at $29.6 million and about 10% less than what analysts had expected.

Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) And Other US Biodiesel Producers Face EU Tariffs

An EU trade committee has approved temporary anti-dumping and anti-subsidy tariffs on imports of US biodiesel. This will affect Us biofuels companies like agricultural giant Archer Daniels Midland. The tariffs go into effect March 13th-after that, Archer Daniels will have to pay 26 euros for each 100 kg of biodiesel imported into Europe. Energy Focus, Inc just announced that it was selected to provide lighting for the Burg Dubai. When completed, the Burg Dubai will be the tallest building in the world. The company’s Crescent Lighting line of products were used to illuminate the fountain in front of the skyscraper due to their long life, resistance to corrosion and ease of maintenance.

Xcel Energy (XEL) Signs Deal With Microgy Inc

Xcel Energy just announced a new deal with Microgy, Inc that will allow Xcel to turn organic waste into methane to generate energy. The methane generation will take place near Xcel’s Fort St. Vrain Generating Station. A new methane plant will be built for this purpose, with construction slated to begin in 2010. Initially, the project will produce 915,000 MMBtu of methane, which is enough to power 17,000 homes per year.

Fuel Systems Solutions’ (FSYS) Subsidiary IMPCO Expands

Fuel Systems Solutions just announced that it has expanded the engine building capabilities of its subsidiary, IMPCO. Improvements to IMPCO’s manufacturing facility in Sterling Heights, MI will allow the company to support Fuel Systems Solutions’ new next generation direct injection industrial fuel system, which is compliant with 2010 emissions standards.

Converted Organics (COIN) Announces Large Fertilizer Shipment

Converted Organics just announced that they have shipped 46 tons of their organic fertilizers and soils amendments to a major retail chain. The products, which are made from recycled food wastes, will be available for gardeners to purchase in time for the spring planting season. Over the next few days, Converted Organics will ship even more product out, with an additional 55 tons of fertilizer scheduled to reach the same chain by March 6.

ReneSola (SOL) Raising 08 Outlook, Guides 09 Lower Than Estimates
