Energy Focus, Inc just announced that they have signed a letter of intent to purchase Stones River Companies. The purchase of the Nashville, Tennessee-based company will give them access to the $100 billion market in the public sector for energy-efficient lighting. The deal is expected to be complete within the next 90 days.

Energy Focus, Inc just announced that it has inked a $3.1 million, two-year contract with the DuPont-University of Delaware Very High Efficiency Solar Cell (VHESC) Consortium to develop, cheap, high-efficiency solar modules. Cree, Inc announced that is has achieved industry-best research and development results with a white power LED capable of delivering 161 lumens per watt. Energy Solutions, Inc, a member of Washington River Protection Solutions, LLC, has officially taken over Hanford’s Tank Operations Contract. The tanks in question hold approximately 53 million gallons of radioactive chemical waste, and EnergySolutions will work with other partners in the LLC to maintain the tanks and start removing the waste. The 10-year contract is valued at $7.1 billion by the Department of Energy.
