Canadian Solar (CSIQ) Up Over 30% After Selling Half Billion In Solar Projects

Canadian Solar (CSIQ) is still trying to find a bottom and today is a good start towards that with the stock up over 30% on news it has sold nine solar plants in Ontario with a combined capacity of 86MW to TransCanada Corporation for about $470 million. Ormat Technologies (ORA) Lands $65 Million EPC Geothermal Contract

Ormat Technologies (ORA) announced today that it landed a $65 million EPC contract with Cyrq Energy for a geothermal project in New Mexico.  The contract work is scheduled to be released in stages based on progress and development of the well.  In addition Ormat will provide financing for the project not to exceed $66 million.  The project is expected to come online within two years.

Energy Focus (EFOI) Awarded $2.5 Million In Efficient Lighting Contracts

Energy Focus (EFOI) has been awarded $2.5 million in efficient lighting contracts it was announced after the bell today.  The contracts are for retrofitting at a Fortune 500 firm as well as a large school system in the SE United States.  The company is currently procuring the materials and overseeing the installations.

China Ming Yang Wind (MY) Misses On EPS

China Ming Yang Wind (MY) is reporting earnings results this morning that missed analyst estimates on the EPS side, but slightly ahead on the revenue side.  The company reported an EPS of .13/share (vs estimates for .16/share) on revenues of $299 million (vs estimates for $297 million).
