Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) Puts Magic Valley Facility Back Online

Pacific Ethanol just  announced that it is once again producing ethanol at its Magic Valley facility in Idaho. The plant hasn’t been in production since February 2009, when unfavorable market conditions caused Pacific Ethanol to shut it down.  The company received approvals from the court handling its bankruptcy petitions and from its lenders to restart production at the plant in December, and now it is up and running again.

Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) To Start Making Ethanol Again

Struggling ethanol producer Pacific Ethanol just announced that it plans to start making ethanol again.  According to this press release, the company plans to bring its Magic Valley plant in Idaho back online for the new year. The plant, capable of producing 60 million gallons of ethanol annually, should be back up and running in January 2010, as long as the bankruptcy court approves.

Verenium Corporation Signs Agreement With VPP To Develop Ethanol From Paper/Pulp Wastes

Verenium Corporation just announced that it has signed an agreement with Value Prior to Pulping (VPP), an organization that is a special project between the American Forest and Paper Association and Cleantech Partners, Inc. Under the agreement, the two organizations will work together to try out Verenium’s C5 technology to see how well it works for making ethanol from hemicelluloses created during the pulp and paper process.

Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE) Gets Central City Plant Online

Green Plains Renewable Energy just announced that they have now gotten their Central City, Nebraska ethanol plant online, according to DomesticFuel.com. The plant, which has not been running since November 2008, was purchased from Verasun when Verasun went bankrupt. Green Plains’ plant in Ord, Nebraska, which was purchased at the same time, was put back into service in the middle of last month.

Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE) Starts Production at New Nebraska Plant Acquisition

Green Plains Renewable Energy has begun grinding corn to turn in to ethanol at its new plant in Ord, Nebraska. The plant, which Green Plains Renewable Energy acquired earlier this month, should be producing its fist batch of ethanol tomorrow, July 16th.
