Hoku Materials (HOKU) Ends Supply Contracts

Hoku Materials, a subsidiary of Hoku Scientific, Inc, announced today that it will terminate supply contracts with two of its customers, Sanyo Electric Co and Global Expertise Wafer Division Ltd, in a bid to reallocate resources to other customers.

Suntech (STP) To Supply Solar Panels To Power The North Face’s West Coast Distribution Center

Suntech Power Holdings Co announced today that it has been selected to provide solar panels for a 1 MW solar power system that will supply the North Face’s West Coast distribution center in Visalia, California with electricity.  EI Solutions will handle the installation itself, using RayTracker(TM) GC single-axis solar trackers.

Canadian Solar (CSIQ) & GCL Silicon Sign Long Term Supply Contract

Canadian Solar (CSIQ) has signed two long term supply contracts with GCL Silicon Tech strengthening its polysilicon and wafer supply chain.  Under terms of the deal, GCL Silicon will supply CSIQ with 500 metric tons of polysilicon this year and next and nearly 2 GW of wafers from 2010 to 2015

LDK (LDK) Solar Signs Wafer Supply Contract with Solartech Energy

LDK Solar announced today that is has signed a 5-yr contract with Solartech Energy. Under the contract, Solartech Energy will receive 550 MW worth of the wafers over a 5 year period starting in 2009 and ending in 2013.

GT Solar (SOLR) Discloses Contract With DC Chemical

GT Solar (SOLR) has disclosed a 173 million contract with DC Chemical that it signed on July 11 of this year and will have GT Solar providing DC Chemical with state of the art polysilicon CVD reactors which are used to manufacture polysilicon, the key raw material used to produce solar cells.   This is the 3rd contract between the two companies.

Suntech (STP) In 2nd Supply Deal With DC Chemical

Suntech Power (STP) has signed a 2nd polysilicon supply agreement with South Korea based DC Chemical with a total value of about 750 million from 2010 to 2016.  Back in March the two companies inked another supply deal worth around 630 million.

LDK Solar Signs Supply Deal With Hyundai (LDK)

Today, LDK Solar announced that it has signed a 7-year contract to deliver approximately 440 MW of microcrystalline solar wafers Korean manufacturing company Hyundai Heavy Industries. The contract calls for the product to be delivered over 7 years, from  2009 to 2015. In exchange for agreeing to produce the wafers, LDK solar will receive a downpayment from Hyundai. Energy Conversion Devices, Inc (ENER) Announces Financial Results for Fourth Quarter

Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. released a financial report for the quarter ending June 30, 2008. The company is considered an industry leader in rooftop photovoltaics and thin-film solar laminates. Total consolidated revenues for the quarter rose 18%  to $82.4 million. Solar product sales were up 19% to $77 million. Yesterday, GT Solar International released an earnings report for the first quarter.
