Green Plains Renewable Energy just announced a third-party marketing deal with Bushmill’s Ethanol, Inc. The company operates an ethanol plant in Atwater, Minnesota which produces about 55 million gallons of ethanol per year. According to TradingMarkets.com, Green Plains Renewable Energy also "claimed it plans to produce, market and/or distribute approximately 635 million gallons of ethanol annually, which is equivalent to approximately 6% of the US’ total ethanol demand."
Green Plains Renewable Energy just announced that it will work with several other companies to begin producing biodiesel and ethanol from algae. Other companies involved in the venture include Clarcor Inc, a filtration products manufacturer from Tennessee; BioProcessH20 LLC, a photobioreactor and filtration system developer that will license the advanced photobioreactor technology used in converting the algae to fuel and NTR PLC, a company based in Ireland.

After the bell on Friday, Green Plains Renewable Energy reported very good Q3 results as revenues continue to soar. The company still reported a loss of .11/share in the typically weak 3rd quarter but much less than the loss of .40/share in the year ago quarter as revenues surged to over 100 million for the first time in its short history.
