Evergreen Solar (ESLR) Announces Preliminary Results, Record Shipments

JA Solar (JASO) raised guidance about two weeks ago and Evergreen Solar (ESLR) is out with preliminary results tonight, but the two companies still aren’t in the same league.  ESLR is saying that 1st quarter shipments have increases to a new company record of about 35.4MW with revenues at about $78.5 million and an average selling price of $2.20/watt.  However, manufacturing costs remained about where they were last quarter which is disappointing for a company … Read the rest

Downgrades – CSIQ To Hold, WFR To Sell; ITRI Maintained At Outperform

A few more analyst calls this morning.  Collins Stewart has downgraded shares of Canadian Solar (CSIQ) from Buy to Hold and has a $20 – 24 price target on it.  They believe that while strong demand has led to a firming of module prices, but it’s so strong that its pulling up the prices of cells and wafers which may weigh on CSIQ margins.  Shares of CSIQ are trading down 5% today and appear headed … Read the rest

Suntech (STP) Supplies Solar Panels To Sydney Town Hall

Suntech just announced that it has supplied the Town Hall building in Sydney, Australia, with a 48kW rooftop installation. The installation consists of 240 of Suntech’s advanced solar panels featuring Suntech’s new Pluto technology, which improves conversion efficiencies by 12%.

Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) Subsidiaries Announce Amended Reorganization Plan

Pacific Ethanol’s wholly-owned subsidiaries, consisting of Pacific Ethanol Holding Co. LLC and 4 ethanol plant subsidiaries, just announced that they have filed an amended reorganization plan with the Delaware bankruptcy court overseeing Pacific Ethanol’s bankruptcy procedures.

The amended plan now includes terms allowing Pacific Ethanol to buy up to 25% of the ownership interests for New PEH, a holding company which will take ownership of the subsidiaries mentioned above. Pacific Ethanol can exercise this option … Read the rest

Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) Expands NYC CNG Fueling Facilities

Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) is expanding its presence in NYC, by building two new CNG fueling stations in the Queens area as well as next to Liberty National Airport.  The stations will help meet the the demand of a growing fleet of natural gas fueled taxis, limos and other transit vehicles.  Construction is expected to begin next month and expected to open in the fall.

Upgrades For Suntech (STP), JA Solar (JASO), Buy Reiteration On Veeco (VECO)

This morning Think Equity has upgraded JA Solar JA Solar (JASO) from Hold to Buy and upgraded Suntech Power (STP) from Sell to Hold.  JASO is moving up 2% in premarket trading while STP is down a bit.  Get a free trend analysis for JASO and STP.
