The largest single order for LNG trucks using Westport Innovations (WPRT) natural gas engine systems was announced today. Quebec based Robert Transport placed an order for 180 Peterbilt LNG trucks featuring Wesport HD Systems. The HD Systems consist of a 15 litre engine, proprietary fuel injectors, LNG fuel tanks and pumps and electrical components.

SunPower (SPWRA) and Iberdrola Renewables have announced plans to partner on a 30MW solar plant on 216 acres of private land in Colorado which is expected to come online by the end of next year. The plant will be owned and operated by Iberdrola and use Sunpower’s E19 solar panels mounted to the Suntracker systems to maximize efficiency. The electricity generated will be sold under a long term contract to Xcel Energy (XEL).

Tesla (TSLA) has unveiled not only the only auto manufacturing plant in California, but the first plant dedicated solely to electric car production at the former NUMMI site which it purchased in May.
