NRG Energy just announced that it plans to offer an unlimited electric car charging plan to its Texas customers. Starting next year, Houston residents will be able to sign up for the plan, which will cost $60-80 per month and allow unlimited charging at home and at charging stations throughout the city. It also includes the cost of leasing a home charging station and emergency charging for drivers who get stranded.
By the middle of next year, NRG plans to extend the service to Dallas as well.
In an article in the Dallas Morning News, Michael Harrigan, NRG’s vice president of electric vehicle services., said that the new program will offer electric car owners “a very clean, easy experience fueling the vehicle.”
