Echelon (ELON) Now A Member Of The Demand Response And Smart Grid Coalition

Echelon just announced that it has joined the Demand Response and Smart Grid Coalition, an industry trade association. The coalition’s goal is to raise awareness of the benefits that demand-response systems and smart grid technologies can offer.

Green Energy Details of Economic Stimulus Package

Now that Congress has approved the economic stimulus package (aka the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act) with Obama expected to sign it into law on Tuesday I thought I’d give a run down of what’s in this bill related to green energy initiatives. 

Overall, nearly 10% of the entire bill provides funding and tax credits for green energy related projects.

Echelon (ELON) Continues to Report Losses On Shrinking Revenue

Echelon (ELON) may be a company to watch in the future with exposure in LED lighting, demand response and smart grid networking but for now the company remains unprofitable with no signs of a turn around yet.  The company posted a non GAAP loss of .06/share which beat estimates of -.14/share but revenues shrunk by about 25% over the year ago quarter.
