Sunpower (SPWRA) landed another solar supply deal with the French retailer Casino Group today. Last year, Sunpower signed a 14MW deal with the company and today it signed a 20MW deal which allows Casino group to install additional solar panels on the roof tops of its properties in France. They will use Sunpower’s E19 series solar panels which provide efficiency up to 19%.

That was some reversal in First Solar (FSLR) after hours! The stock ran up to over $190 following the headline results of the quarter in which the company absolutely destroyed estimates, but reversed sharply after the company revealed pricing pressure and financing constraints in Germany. First Solar (FSLR) is entering the French market with a splash, announcing this morning a partnership with French utility EDF Energies Nouvelles to build France’s largest solar panel manufacturing plant with annual capacity of more than 100MW of thin film panels.

Fuel Tech (FTEK) announced some additional air pollution control contracts this morning totaling $2.1 million which include an order from an existing customer for NOxOUT(R) Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction Systems to be installed at two city solid waste incinerators in France. Orders were also received for a commercial High Energy Reagent Technology system & several HERT demonstrations for nitrogen oxide control.

Valence Technology (VLNC) which develops safe lithium phosphate energy storage systems, is announcing today a multi year non exclusive supply agreement with PVI, a French commercial electric vehicle manufacturer. VLNC will provide its U-Charge XP Energy Storage System and engineering support to power 4 commercial EV platforms and will begin shipments late next year, which could add $3 million in revenue in 2010.
