Another Kandi Technologies (KNDI) EV Receives Chinese Government Approval

Kandi Technologies just announced that another one of its EV models, the Model KD5010XXYEV, has been approved for sale in China. In a , the company wrote that it expects this model to be much widely adopted than the previous models it had for sale, since it is well-suited for both families and government agencies such as post offices and power companies.

BorgWarner (BWA) And UQM (UQM) To Collaborate

BorgWarner and UQM just announced that they will combine their powers to develop electric powertrain products for HEVs and EVs. They intend to start out their partnership by working on a mashup of  UQM Technologies’ PowerPhase® electric propulsion system and BorgWarner’s 31-03 eGearDrive™ transmission for the Coda electric car.  The Coda is expected to be out in California next year.

Volkswagon (VOW) And Toshiba (TOSBF) In Partnership To Develop EV

Here’s some good news for all of you Volkswagon fans: Volkswagon and Toshiba have signed a letter of intent to develop an electric version of  the VW Up! concept car, according to SustainableBusiness.com.

Valence Technology (VLNC) To Supply Lithium Phosphate Storage to PVI

Valence Technology (VLNC) which develops safe lithium phosphate energy storage systems, is announcing today a multi year non exclusive supply agreement with PVI, a French commercial electric vehicle manufacturer.  VLNC will provide its U-Charge XP Energy Storage System and engineering support to power 4 commercial EV platforms and will begin shipments late next year, which could add $3 million in revenue in 2010.
