Suntech (STP) Announces New World Record In Conversion Efficiency

Suntech just announced that is has a achieved a new world record for conversion efficiency in a multi-crystalline silicon PV module.  Suntech’s Pluto PV cells powered with the module, which achieved 15.6% efficiency in tests that were independently confirmed by Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Germany.

Suntech Products (STP) To Be Available in More Stores In Japan

According to JLM Pacific Epoch, Suntech products will soon be available in more stores in Japan. Yamada Denki, a Japanese retail store that distributes Suntech products, is expected to expand the number of its locations that carry Suntech products from 50 to 450. Suntech (STP) To Supply Solar System For Sham’s Tower In Abu Dhabi

Suntech just announced that they have been chosen to supply solar panels to the Sham’s Tower on Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Under the agreement with Aldar Properties PJSC, Suntech will provide 1,120 panels to be used to create a 292 KW solar system on the roof of the building. Suntech To Construct 100 MW Power Station In Lianyungang

Suntech just announced that it will build a 100MW solar power plant in Lianyungang, China. In pursuit of this goal, the company has entered into an agreement with Lianyungang Economic and Technological Development Zone. The project is divided up into phases. Suntech (STP) Signs Contract With Recurrent Energy

Suntech just announced that they have signed a supply contract with Recurrent Energy. Under the contract, Suntech will supply Recurrent with more than 25,000 modules. Recurrent will use these to construct a 5 MW solar installation on top of San Franscisco’s Sunset Reservoir. China Offers New Subsidies For Solar Power (STP, YGE, TSL)

The Chinese government just announced it will offer significant new subsidies to solar power manufacturers. According to Reuters, the government will cover 50 percent of investments for solar power projects and necessary power transmission and distribution projects.
