Green Energy Highlights of Johnson Controls (JCI) Earnings

Johnson Controls (JCI), a conglomerate involved in lithium battery production and building efficiency reported mixed earnings this morning posting an EPS 1 cent better than expectations at a loss of .16 share (it’s the 2nd straight quarter of losses) on revenues of 6.3 billion vs the consensus of 6.93 billion.

Energy Focus (EFOI), a leading energy efficient lighting specialist is up more than 20% today (keep in mind it’s a penny stock) after it announced it’s been recognized as an official GSA Schedule contractor to the US Government which opens up it’s product line for the potential use in projects determined by the $787 economic stimulus package.

Green Energy Details of Economic Stimulus Package

Now that Congress has approved the economic stimulus package (aka the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act) with Obama expected to sign it into law on Tuesday I thought I’d give a run down of what’s in this bill related to green energy initiatives. 

Overall, nearly 10% of the entire bill provides funding and tax credits for green energy related projects.
