MEMC Electronics (WFR) continues to struggle and missed Wall St EPS estimates after the bell today, posting another quarter of red ink at -.02/share (minus one time cost associated with Sun Edison acquisition) Wall St expected a flat quarter and the whisper number actually called for a small profit, so the stock is selling off a bit after hours, but how it trades tomorrow will depend largely on the guidance which the company will give … Read the rest

Despite Upgrade & Buy Rating, American Superconductor (AMSC) Whacked Again
American Superconductor (AMSC) continued selling off today following its strong earnings report. Traders obviously don’t believe it was a strong enough report to support the high valuation and so the stock drops into a much needed base. It looks to me like it’s headed to that 200 day moving average just below the $32 level.
The selling continues today despite two upgrades – from Janco Partners and Brean Murray.
Janco upgraded the stock from … Read the rest

Its founder, Kedar Gupta is no stranger to cleantech success, having founded GT Solar (SOLR) with just $1000 and cashing out a few years ago.

A 2007 proposal would require ethanol to emit less greenhouse gas than gasoline over the life cycle of the fuel while cellulosic fuels would be required to be even cleaner. Of course, the industry opposes … Read the rest

GT Solar (SOLR) has been able to do what most solar stocks haven’t over the past few weeks and that’s avoid a big sell off.
