China Sunergy just announced a new sales contract with NUE PTY Ltd, aka “NU Energy,” an Australian PV firm. Under the contracts, China Sunergy expects to ship Nu Energy 10MW of monocrystalline solar modules by early 2010. Shipments started in June of this year, and an ongoing sales relationship between the two companies is expected.

According to Reuters, LDK just announced that it will work with China’s Suqian City to develop 300 megawatts worth of solar PV projects. The projects are expected to be complete by 2015.

Echelon (ELON) is surging nearly 20% today with big volume. The reason isn’t completely obvious because the company hasn’t issued a press release, but the reason the stock is moving is probably the result of Spain based Telvent integrating its smart grid solution with Echelon’s (ELON) for a big Finnish project with a cost of over $150 million.

Think Global has been on its last legs, but is emerging from bankruptcy with a total cash infusion of $47 million from various investors including partner Ener1 (HEV). Ener1 will invest an additional $18 million in the company and convert an additional $3 million in debt for preferred shares, giving the company a 31% stake in the company and securing its spot as lead investor in the company.
Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) along with its customers and government agency partners have been awarded $34 million by the US Dept of Energy in order to offset the higher of cost natural gas vehicles. According to MercuryNews.com, Pacific Gas and Electric just announced that it will be building a 300-megawatt facility to store wind energy generated during times of low demand, to be released when demand is up.The facility will consist of an underground storage area. Compressed air will be injected into the storage facility and released to produce electricity as needed.

Yingli Green Energy just announced that they will be providing CTP, a Czech commercial property developer, with 5 MW of solar PV modules. Under the terms of the letter of intent, signed by both companies, CTP is expected to purchase the modules from Yingli in the fourth quarter of this year.

A surprisingly good quarter out of China Sunergy (CSUN) this morning. The company swung back to a profit in the quarter, posting .03/share excluding one time items on revenues of $70.1 million.
