UQM Technologies (UQM) Powered EcoRide Electric Bus Debuts

Johnson Controls-Saft (JCI) Partners With Ford (Again)

We previously reported that Johnson-Controls Saft would be collaborating with Ford for a demonstration fleet of Ford Escape Hybrids. However, they’ve also signed a 5-year agreement with Ford to produce lithium-ion batteries for Ford’s first first series production plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. UQM Technologies (UQM), the maker of electric propulsion systems for electric and hybrid vehicles is still in startup phase and has never posted a profit .. that continued last quarter with an EPS loss of .03/share on revenues that expanded by 67% over the year ago quarter to $2.9 million.

AeroVironment, Inc (AVAV) Installs PosiCharge™ Fast Charge Systems For Nestle Corporation

AeroVironment announced yesterday that it has installed over 200 PosiCharge™ Fast Charge Systems for Nestle Corporation. The systems, installed at more than 14 Nestle facilities across America and Canada, are used to quickly and efficiently charge electric vehicles.

The New York Times reports that General Motors (GM) will make lithium batteries for its much-anticipated Chevy Volt in Michigan, instead of making the batteries overseas. Honda (HMC) To Release Electric Motorcycle In 2010

Honda announced on  Friday that it is in the process of developing an electric motorcycle. Production and sales of the electric motorcycle should begin next year, in 2010, but there’s no word yet about whether or not it will be available stateside.
