Satcon Technology (SATC) Solstice Product Selected For 63MW Solar Plant In Puerto Rico

Google (GOOG) Testing Self Driving Toyota (TM) Prius

In a piece in the New York Times over the weekend, they pull back the curtains on an exciting experiment between Google (GOOG) and Toyota (TM) – self driving cars.  Google has been testing self driving Prius’s in secret for some time which use AI software, cameras and GPS to try to mimic human driving.

According to the article, seven cars have driven 1000 miles completely autonomously and another 140K miles with some human intervention.  … Read the rest

Satcon Technology (SATC) Reports Record Revenue, Misses On EPS; Guides Above

Satcon Technology (SATC) reported a Q2 loss of $0.12, vs the analyst estimate of ($0.05) after the bell today. Revenue for the quarter was $27.6 million, vs the estimate of $26.8 million.  That’s a record revenue number for the company, but it didn’t translate into profits.  The company doesn’t expect profitability until 2011, but is rapidly moving there.

Fuel Systems Solutions (FSYS) Subsidiary IMPCO Wins Europe Deal For Idle Reduction Equipment

Fuel Systems Solutions (FSYS) has announced that its subsidiary IMPCO Ecotrans has won its first significant supply agreement for its locomotive idle reduction equipment in Europe. They will initially supply 50 locomotive auxiliary power units within a few months and installation is expected to be completed by the end of the year.  No word on the name of the European company or the financials of the deal.

Orion Energy (OESX) Swings To Profit, But Misses Street & Guides Lower

Orion Energy Systems (OESX) swung to a quarterly profit vs the .05/share loss they reported in the year ago quarter, but missed the Street estimates on both EPS and revenues.  They reported a non GAAP EPS of .01, missing by a penny on revenues of $18.88 which was shy of estimates by about $1.5 million.
