Advanced Battery Tech (ABAT) Reports Mixed Results, But Shares Up

Advanced Battery Tech (ABAT) which has long been my favorite lithium battery play, reported Q3 earnings results last night that were mixed, but traders like the report, sending the stock up a few percent in pre-market trading.  The company reported an EPS of .16/share vs the analyst estimate for .12/share on revenues of $25.9 million which was just shy of the analyst estimate of $27.5 million.  Those numbers represent a 100% quarter over quarter jump … Read the rest

China Sunergy (CSUN) Smashes EPS Estimate

China Sunergy (CSUN) reported Q3 earnings results this morning that smashed analyst estimates on the EPS side, but inline on the revenue side.  The company reported an EPS of .37 (well ahead of the .20/share estimate) on revenues of $126 million which matched the analyst estimate.  That’s good for quarter over quarter growth of 95% and 57% respectively.

Tri-Tech Holdings (TRIT) Posts Big Growth, But Shy Of EPS Estimate & Weak Guidance

Tri-Tech Holdings (TRIT), a China water pollution play, posted big quarter over quarter growth this morning, but the EPS was a hair shy of the analyst estimate and revenue guidance for 2010 was below expectations as well.  The company reported an EPS of .28/share (vs the estimate for .29/share) on revenues of $16.9 million (vs the estimate of $13.6 million).  That’s good for a 40% quarter over quarter jump in EPS and a 245% jump … Read the rest

STR Holdings (STRI) Beats & Raises Guidance, But Can’t Match Lofty Expectations

STR Holdings (STRI) reported strong results this morning, but apparently it wasn’t enough to match lofty expectations after the stock has more than doubled in the past year.  The company reported an EPS of .39 which was well above the analyst consensus estimate of .33 and 39% higher than a year ago, but the first sequential decline in three quarters.  Revenues beat the analyst estimate of $92 million, coming in at $97.8 million which represents … Read the rest

Nexxus Lighting (NEXS) Reports Stagnant Quarter, But Expects Momentum To Pick Up Again

Nexxus Lighting (NEXS) reported results this morning that are admittedly a bit confusing, but not as bad as the headlines in my opinion and I think the selling pre-market is a bit overdone, but we’ll see how the day progresses.  The company recently sold its legacy commercial and pool lighting business to focus on its LED business which is a smart move and should pay off in the longer run.

As a  result of this … Read the rest

Energy Focus (EFOI) Reports Flat Sequential Rev Growth, Expects Cash Flow Positive For 2010

Energy Focus (EFOI) has released results after the bell today, but I don’t see an EPS number in the press release.  They are posting a revenue number of $9 million for the quarter.  Yes that’s triple what they posted a year ago, but you can’t compare to the year ago quarter yet because of the Stone Ridge acquisition.  Comparing to the previous two quarters with Stone Ridge revenue, it’s about inline ($8.4 million in the … Read the rest

Sunpower (SPWRA) Beats By Wide Margin, But Is It Enough?

Sunpower (SPWRA) has announced earnings results after the bell today that doubled the analyst estimates on the EPS side at .26/share on revenues of $550 million vs the analyst estimate for $471 million.  While that’s a big bump over the average estimate it’s not impressive when compared to the year ago quarter when the company reported .46 EPS.  I just don’t think the quarter is going to be enough for another big leg up in … Read the rest

Smartheat (HEAT) Beats & Raises Guidance

SmartHeat (HEAT) posted results after the bell and beat estimates by a bit with an EPS of .34/share vs the analyst estimate of .32/share on revenues of $51.50 million vs the estimate of $50.50 million.  While the revenue number represents a 36% jump over the year ago quarter, the EPS number was 6% shy of the year ago quarter, so not a great quarter but a beat nonetheless.

Tesla Motors (TSLA) Beats, But Still Posting Significant Losses; Model S In 2012 On Track

Tesla Motors (TSLA) reported results after the bell today and is still posting significant losses but their are some positives to report.  For one, the company did beat low expectations from analysts posting an EPS loss of .37/share vs the analyst estimate for a .43/share loss on revenues of $31.2 million vs the estimate of $28 million.  Gross margins also picked up to 30%.  Before we get too carried away with enthusiasm though lets keep … Read the rest

A123 Systems (AONE) Red Ink Still Flowing, Delays Production Ramp

A123 Systems (AONE) reported results after the bell today  that indicated the red ink continues to flow as the company missed analyst estimates and reported the 3rd straight quarter of accelerating losses while revenues remain relatively stagnant.  The company reported a non GAAP loss of .42/share vs the analyst estimate of a .30/share loss on revenues of $26 million which basically matched the analyst estimate.  To make matters worse, they also indicated that their production … Read the rest
