Cree Inc (CREE) Beats, Posts Big Growth, But Traders Sell The News

Cree Inc (CREE) is selling off in after hours trading more than 5% as traders “sell the news”.  A big quarter was already priced in and traders are taking some profits.  CREE beat both the consensus estimate of .44/share and the whisper number of .46 by posting a non GAAP EPS number of .47/share on revenues of $234 million. Evergreen Solar (ESLR) Announces Preliminary Results, Record Shipments

JA Solar (JASO) raised guidance about two weeks ago and Evergreen Solar (ESLR) is out with preliminary results tonight, but the two companies still aren’t in the same league.  ESLR is saying that 1st quarter shipments have increases to a new company record of about 35.4MW with revenues at about $78.5 million and an average selling price of $2.20/watt.  However, manufacturing costs remained about where they were last quarter which is disappointing for a company … Read the rest

Rino Intl (RINO) Reports Strong Results, But Misses Estimates

Rino International (RINO), one of the top China water and remediation plays, reported earnings after the bell today.  Growth was excellent, but it didn’t quite meet Wall St estimates.  The company reported an adjusted EPS of .53/share which was a big jump from the year ago quarter (.28/share), but missed by a penny and was significantly less than last quarter’s record quarter of .68/share.  Revenues came in at $53 million which was a 32% … Read the rest

SmartHeat (HEAT) Misses Estimates, Sees Strong 2010

SmartHeat (HEAT) posted huge quarter over quarter growth this morning, but that’s compared to an unusually weak Dec 08 quarter and the company missed analyst estimates of .14/share by posting an adjusted EPS of .10/share.  Revenues came in at $26 million.  No question, it was a real good quarter from HEAT, but traders were looking for more with the stock down 12% today.

China Wind Systems (CWS) Reports Solid Growth

China Wind Systems (CWS) reported strong Q4 results this morning with an adjusted EPS of $0.11 on revenues of $15.9 million.  That’s a 37% and 47% bump in earnings and revenues over the year ago period.  It should be noted that revenue related specifically to its wind energy business grew 327% over the year ago quarter to $6.8 million, so the company now gets nearly half its revenue from wind energy related business.

A-Power Energy (APWR) Reports Strong Results, Disappoints On Guidance

A-Power Energy (APWR) reported a big growth in the last quarter and beat analyst EPS estimates by a wide margin reporting a non GAAP Q4 EPS of $0.61 which was well ahead of analyst estimates of $0.41. Biofuel Energy (BIOF) Reports First Profitable Quarter, Shares Surge

Biofuel Energy (BIOF) reported terrific growth and reached a milestone in its latest quarter last night and traders are bidding up the stock more than 14% today on the news.  The company reported an EPS of .21/share on revenue of $120 million.  It’s the company’s first profitable quarter and a big improvement over the year ago period when they reported a loss of .43/share.

LDK Solar (LDK) reported a non GAAP Q4 EPS of $0.03 which missed analyst estimates of $0.12 as margins took a hit. Revenues were a bit above estimates at $304 million.  While that’s a big improvement over the year ago quarter when the company reported a whopping 2.05 loss, it wasn’t enough to keep traders from dumping the stock today.
