LDK Solar (LDK) Finding Support After Earnings

LDK Solar (LDK) reported mixed results after the bell yesterday, reporting an EPS loss of .21/share vs analyst expectations of a smaller loss .06/share as well as the whisper number of a .12/share loss, so no surprise the stock is off this morning.  I’ts trading down about 13% but off the lows and appears to be finding support at the 50 day moving average.  Revenues actually came in ahead of estimates at $283 million which … Read the rest

ReneSola (SOL) Misses Estimates

ReneSola (SOL) missed on both EPS and revenue consensus estimates and the stock is taking a bit of a hit as a result, off about 8% and testing the 50 day moving average.  The company reported an earnings per ADS of .04/share, just below estimates of .06 while revenues came in shy of expectations at $107 million vs estimates of $113 million.  As we saw with Suntech, the company is doing a good job of … Read the rest

Suntech Power (STP) Beats On Earnings, Light On Revenues

Suntech Power (STP) is back in the black with improving margins, posting an EPS of .01 share vs analyst estimates of a .06/loss.  However, revenues were very light at $315 million, missing estimates of $360 million.  It represents the first quarter of negative quarter over quarter revenue growth in company history, so certainly not much reason for optimism on this report outside of the improving margins.  The CEO is enthusiastic though, noting that revenues “only” … Read the rest

JA Solar (JASO) Hammered After Reporting Steep Loss

JA Solar (JASO) is down about 15% ahead of the bell today after reporting a much steeper loss than what analysts had expected.  The company reported a quarterly loss of .18/share vs expectations of a .05 loss.  Revenues were awful at $34 million which badly missed estimates of $112 million and represented a nearly 80% plunge from the year ago quarter.

“The first quarter of 2009 was the most challenging quarter for JA Solar since … Read the rest

Solarfun (SOLF) Jumping PreMarket On Better Than Expected Results

Solarfun (SOLF) is up nearly 10% in premarket trading after reporting much better than expected earnings results.  The company reported a loss .02/share vs the consensus estimates of a .17/share loss on revenues that were right about in line with estimates at $100 million.  Considering the loss this quarter was considerably less than last quarters .40/share loss, perhaps the company is beginning to stabilize.  However, the quarter represented the first quarter over quarter revenue decline … Read the rest

Darling Intl (DAR) Rises Above 200DMA On Earnings

Darling International (DAR), the largest publicly traded recycler of food waste (mostly fryer grease) reported mixed earnings yesterday, reporting an EPS that was in line with estimates at .06/share but revenues that were shy of expectations at $133 million.  That’s a big drop in growth over the year ago period with an EPS drop of 77% and a revenue drop of 33%, but as is always the case, no matter how bad the quarter, the … Read the rest

GT Solar (SOLR) Misses Badly, Guides Below, Down 15% AH

GT Solar (SOLR) has been a solar superstar over the past several months with its stock soaring from just $1.55 last November to a high of around 9 just a few days ago.  That kind of run isn’t sustainable and the stock was long overdue for a pull back.  It’s been pulling back over the past week and tomorrow morning will test the 50 day moving average around 6 after reporting earnings after the bell … Read the rest

Raser Technologies (RZ) Will Begin Booking Geothermal Revenues Next Quarter

Raser Technologies (RZ) reported earnings this morning a bit better than expectations with a loss of .10/share vs expectations of a .12/loss.  The financial results this quarter aren’t all that important in my opinion since the company won’t begin booking revenues for its Hatch plant until next quarter.  Here are some comments from the CEO..

“We are now delivering clean, renewable power from our Hatch geothermal power plant to the City of Anaheim as part … Read the rest

EnerDel (HEV) Beats Estimates, Has Plenty Of Liquidity For Expansion

EnerDel (HEV) is still a development stage company trying to become a lithium ion battery leader so it’s earnings results aren’t all that significant at this point.  The company is still putting its plan in place and getting plants up and running.

“The first quarter was marked by continued execution against the strategic plan laid out in the fourth quarter earnings call,” commented Chairman and CEO, Charles Gassenheimer. “We have a clear focus for production, … Read the rest
