Jefferies reiterated its Buy ratings on Trina Solar (TSL), Yingli Green Energy (YGE), JA Solar (JASO) and Solarfun (SOLF) this morning. Solarfun (SOLF) Smashes Estimates, Raises Guidance, Shares Soaring

Solarfun (SOLF) reported another big quarter of growth and smashed analyst estimates in the process.  It appears the company is quietly emerging as a top China solar play while companies like Suntech Power (STP), Trina Solar (TSL) and JA Solar (JASO) garner much of the attention.  SOLF reported a non GAAP EPS of .59/share, which was more than double the analyst estimate of .25/share.  Revenues were impressive too coming in at $258 million vs the … Read the rest

Solarfun (SOLF) Awarded Italian Contracts Totaling 12MW

Solarfun Power (SOLF) has been awarded two Italian contracts totaling 12MW it was announced this morning.  One contract for 6MW of solar modules was signed with GranSolarGhella while the other of the same size was signed with Tozzi Renewable Energy.  All modules are expected to be delivered in the second half of this year.

Solarfun (SOLF) Announced Another Big Credit Facility

Just a few days ago Solarfun Power (SOLF) announced a credit facility worth RMB 6 billion from the Nanjing branch of the Bank of Shanghai.  This morning they announced another big credit facility, this time worth RMB7 billion from Bank of China.  It has a term of 10 years with specific draw downs subject to review.

Auriga Lifts Price Targets On Solarfun (SOLF) & JinkoSolar (JKS)

Auriga is out maintaining its Buy rating on both Solarfun (SOLF) and JinkoSolar (JKS) and has raised the price targets for both.

Solarfun (SOLF) Announces Credit Facility Worth RMB 6 Billion From Bank of Shanghai

Solarfun just announced that it has been granted a credit facility worth RMB 6 Billion (or an equal amount of foreign currency if desired)  from the Nanjing branch of the Bank of Shanghai. The term is 5 years and the Bank of Shanghai must review and approve each drawdown individually.

Solarfun (SOLF) Announces Capacity Expansion & Increased Solar Cell Efficiency, Stock Breaks Out

Solarfun Power (SOLF) announced plans this morning to increase manufacturing capacity by 50MW and to convert 160MW of its cell manufacturing lines to high efficiency selective emitter technology with both expected to be completed within about six months.  The increase in capacity will be achieved by good old fashioned “debottlenecking” and get the company to a total capacity of 550MW by early next year.  They also announced that new manufacturing facilities are under construction and … Read the rest

Auriga Intersolar Analysis: Solar Industry Fundamentals Strong, Sees Opportunities In FSLR, TSL, YGE, SOLF

Auriga is out this morning with some notes on the solar industry after attending Intersolar in Munich, Germany.  The firm believes industry fundamentals remain strong with robust European demand being driven by attractive rates of return on solar projects.  They believe that as long as project returns are attractive, and both debt and equity financing remains available, demand for PV projects will continue to surprise versus the bearish outlook.
