They put two hybrid electric future heavy trucks through Military Utility Assessment at Fort Lewis, Washington. The two trucks, which are equipped with UQM 120 kW) hybrid electric propulsion systems, have already passed a test run at the U.S. Army’s Aberdeen and Michigan Proving Grounds.

The EcoRide BE35 battery electric transit bus, developed by Proterra LLC is making its debut in a showcase tour across four California cities (San Jose, LA, The Sac and San Fran) that began on Feb 6th. The bus is powered by a PowerPhase 150 propulsion system from UQM Technologies (UQM) that provides regenerative braking allowing the bus to recapture over 90% of the vehicles kinetic energy available during braking.

UQM Technologies (UQM), the developer of parts for electric cars announced results after the bell today posting a loss of .06/share, widening the loss from the year ago quarter by .02. Revenues increased to 2.78 million in the quarter from revenue of 2 million in the year ago quarter, but the company was hurt this quarter on rising expenses.

UQM Technologies (UQM) is soaring over 50% today on no news, but StreetInsider.com is reporting that it might have something to do with speculation that Chrysler will be using a UQM product in one of its upcoming electric cars, scheduled to start shipping in two years. It’s a bit strange though because the Wall St journal reported yesterday that Chrysler is in advanced talks with A123 Systems, which is planning to IPO soon.
UQM Technologies (UQM) reported 1Q results last week and surged more than 10% on Friday right up to resistance of the 200 day moving average.
