According to Pacific Epoch, Yingli Green Energy (YGE) has broken ground on a new RMB 6 billion (a bit less than $1 billion) industry park that will house a 800MW per year crystalline solar project with a completion date set for Dec of next year. China Offers New Subsidies For Solar Power (STP, YGE, TSL)
The Chinese government just announced it will offer significant new subsidies to solar power manufacturers. According to Reuters, the government will cover 50 percent of investments for solar power projects and necessary power transmission and distribution projects. Barclays Cautious On Q2 Solar Earnings; Cuts Price Targets on FSLR, ENER, STP & YGE
Solar stocks were slammed today as oil prices continued to retreat and the cautious comments out of Barclays didn’t help either. Barrons reported this morning that analyst Vishal Shah is cautious on solar heading into Q2 earnings because of the magnitude of the recent rally and the unlikelihood of US & China demand picking up the Germany slack.

Yingli Green Energy (YGE) To Supply PV Modules To SDIC Huajing
Yingli Green Energy just announced that it will supply its PV solar modules to SDIC Huajing. Yingli was selected by SDIC Huajing to supply the company with solar modules to power its 10 MW on-grid solar power plant project in Dunhuang, Gansu Province. The plant has already been given the green light by the province’s Development and Reform Commission.

Yingli Green Energy (YGE) Signs Sales Agreement With China Mobile, Will Supply Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. With PV Modules
Yingli Green Energy just announced that it has signed a sales agreement with China Mobile’s Shanxi subsidiary. China Mobile is building a video monitoring system in Shanxi to help catch forest fires, and Yingli will provide them with off-grid PV modules to help power the system. Under the contract, Yingli will provide a total of 269 units, which will provide .49 MW of power.

Yingli Green Energy (YGE) Signs Sales Agreement With Recurrent Energy
Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Limited just announced that it has signed a strategic sales agreement with Recurrent Energy. Per the agreement, Yingli will supply Recurrent with PV modules until 2012. Recurrent will use the modules in solar energy projects that are expected to range in size from 2 to 20 MW.
