Southern California Edison (SCEQ) To Post Final License Agreement For Business Use Of Patented Smart Meters

ABB And LDK Solar (LDK) Sign $36 Million Equipment And Services Contract For New Plant

 

ABB announced today that it has entered a new solar equipment, system and service contract with LDK Solar worth at least $36 million dollars. Under the contract, ABB will assist LDK Solar in the construction of a polysilicon production plant in Xinyu City, China.
Once its built, the new plant will be Asia’s largest, producing 15,000 metric tons of polysilicon per year. ABB will provide electrical systems, equipment and project management services to LDK. … Read the rest

House Extends Solar, Wind, Green Energy Tax Credits..

The StreetInsider.com is reporting that there are rumors that the House has also voted to extend the tax credits for solar, wind and other renewable energies… Remember the Senate passed the bill a few days ago.  I’ll have an update soon.

Idaho Power (IDA) Signs Deal To Buy Smart Meters For Residential Customers

IDACORP’s public utility Idaho Power just announced that is has signed a $10 million deal with Landis+Gyer to purchase 450,000 of their residential smart meters. House Debates Energy Bill-Divided Over Renewable Energy Tax Credits

 

The Senate just passed an energy bill that would renew the investment tax credits for renewable energy. Those credits are set to expire at he end of the year, and they are vital to encouraging investment in renewable energy technologies.
