EnerDel just announced that they have signed a contract to supply AC Transit with lithium-ion batteries for buses. AC Transit is buying 16 new hybrid electric fuel cell buses, and EnerDel will supply advanced battery systems for all 16 of them. The buses will be powered by lithium batteries and tanks of hydrogen that fit on top of the vehicles.

Hoku (HOKU) Signs New Polysilicon Agreement With Alex New Energy
Hoku Materials, Inc just announced that it has signed a new 10-year polysilicon supply agreement with Shanghai Alex New Energy Company, Ltd. Under the contract, Hoku will resell a portion of the polysilicon production capacity it recaptured after amending a contract with Jiangxi Jinko Solar Company. Alex New Energy had been planning to buy Hoku polysilcon indirectly from Jinko, but will now buy directly from Hoku instead.

BP Solar (BP) Signs Supply Deal With Xantrex (XTX)
BP Solar announced that it has signed a supply deal with Xantrex Technology. Under the terms of the agreement, Xantrex will supply BP with residential grid tie (GT) solar power inverters. These inverters, which feature 96% efficiency and maximum AC output of between 2.8 to 5 KW, will offered to customers as part of BP Solar’s Home Solutions PV rooftop systems.

MEMC Electronic Materials (WFR) Cuts Contract Price With Gintech
Earlier this week, MEMC Electronic Materials announced it would decrease the price that Suntech Power Holdings is paying for its solar wafers. Now, they have changed their contract with Gintech Energy as well. The change in the contract is similar to the change made to Suntech’s contract-price per wafer is dropping, but the volume of wafers will be increased so that the ultimate revenue from the contract remains unchanged.
