Suntech’s (STP) Victoria-Suntech Advanced Solar Facility Launched In Australia

The Victoria-Suntech Advanced Solar Facility (VSAF), a joint project from Suntech and Melbourne, Australia’s Swinburne University of Technology, launched yesterday in Melbourne.

The VSAF will enable Suntech and Swinburne to collaborate and find a way to commercialize Swinburne’s new NANOPLAS technology.

Suntech (STP) Gets Certified To Sell Solar Panels In The UK

Suntech just announced that its solar panels have been certified to meet the requirements of the UK Microgeneration Certification Scheme. MCS Certification means that Suntech’s panels meet or exceed all applicable safety and performance standards and can be sold in the UK.

Credit Suisse Cuts Price Targets Of Solar Stocks: TSL, FSLR, STP, SPWRA, JASO

Solar Stocks See Green In A Sea Red: TSL, SPWRA, CSIQ, YGE, STP

iSuppli Sees Big Growth In German Solar Installations This Year & Next

Street Insider was out with a research note from iSuppli today forecasting big growth in solar leader Germany ahead of the feed-in-tariff reduction in July which will have companies scrambling to complete installations.  That’s not too much of a surprise, but the firm also sees significant growth after the tariff reduction, particularly in rooftop solar systems.

Today’s Analyst Rating Roundup: HEV, ENER, STP, LDK

Suntech Power (STP) Announces Preliminary Results Above Street, Shares Surge

Suntech Power (STP) issued preliminary Q1 results this morning and sees revenues in the range of $580 – $590 vs the Street estimate of $542 million.  Gross margin estimates remain about the same at about 19 – 20%.

The company expects a hit on the Euro plunge of about $23 million give or take a couple mill and plan to hedge more this quarter to cover Euro exposure.
