United Airlines Successful Flight With Rentech (RTK) Synthetic Fuel For First Time In History

For the first time in history, a US commercial airline has hit the skies using synthetic jet fuel.  A United Airlines validation flight was conducted today using Rentech’s (RTK) synthetic jet fuel derived from nat gas and converted to liquid fuel through a proprietary process.  The airliner used Rentech fuel in one engine with a 40% mix.

Trex Co (TREX) Reports Narrower Loss, But Light Revs, Moving Up On Guidance

Shares of Trex Co. (TREX) are surging nearly 12% today back to its yearly high after reporting a smaller loss than what analysts were expecting.  The company reported a loss of .31/share on revenues of $66.3 while analysts expected a .39/share loss on revenues of $71 million.  So a mixed report, but traders like the guidance.

SunPower (SPWRA) Adds 40 MW To California Valley Solar Ranch Contract

Sunpower just announced that it has added an additional 40 MW of capacity to its contract for the development of the California Valley Solar Ranch for PG&E. That means that the completed plant will be 250MW, one of the largest solar PV plants in the world.

Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) has just announced a new 5 year agreement to provide CNG fueling services to SuperShuttle vans offering shared-ride services from major airports, including: Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, New York City, and Phoenix as well as 6 airports in California: Los Angeles, Burbank, Ontario, Orange County, San Francisco and San Diego. SuperShuttle also bought 40 CNG-fueled vans from Clean Energy Fuel’s subsidiary BAF.

China Sunergy (CSUN) Back In Black, Beats With Record Shipments, Shares Up 10%

Borg Warner (BWA) Swings To Big Profit On Autos Recovery, Shares Soar
