Aerovironment (AVAV) To Supply "Quick Charging" System For THINK Electric Vehicles

THINK City just announced that it will be working with Aerovironment to create a new fast-charge system for the Think City Electric vehicle. The goal? 80% charge in 15 minutes! Quantum Fuel (QTWW) Beats, Success Will Be Tied To Fisker

Quantum Fuel Systems (QTWW) reported earnings results after the bell yesterday, beating Wall ST estimates on both the EPS and revenue side with a loss of .03/share on revenues of $6.2 million.  Analysts had expected  a .07/share loss.  Revenues slipped 35% over the year ago quarter which the company attributed to the end of a supply contract with GM for hydrogen fuel storage systems.  However, the company continues to trim its losses as cost reduction … Read the rest

UQM Tech (UQM) Gets $45 Million Grant From DOE For Electric Vehicles

A123 Systems (AONE) Gets Multi Year Lithium Battery Supply Deal With Fisker

Ener1 (HEV) Plunges After Discussions With Fisker Break Down

Back in May we reported that Fisker was in talks with EnerDel to discuss the possibility of using their lithium batteries, but apparently those talks have now ended.  The two companies signed a letter of intent for a potential long term deal that was contingent upon reliability and performance testing, so this is certainly a blow to EnerDel and the stock is down 17% on the news.  The company will still be the supplier for … Read the rest

Nissan Selects Aerovironment (AVAV) For LEAF Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Kandi Technologies (KNDI) Forms Electric Vehicle Partnership To Speed Adoption In China

Kandi Technologies (KNDI) is surging about 15% in premarket trading today after announcing it has formed a strategic alliance with China Potevio/CNOOC New Energy and Power (aka “Alliance For Chinese Electric Vehicle Development and Commercialization”) to speed up the commercialization and adoption of electric cars in China.

Valence Technology (VLNC) Gets $1.4 Million Smith Electric Vehicles Order

Valence Technology (VLNC) announced this morning that it received a $1.4 million order from Smith Electric Vehicles for its U-Charge lithium battery systems to be shipped in the latter half of next year.  Smith is ramping up production of its Newton electric truck line at the Kansas City plant to meet demand for next year.
