Comverge just announced the release of its new product, the Apollo Demand Response System. The Apollo System is the first demand-response system that links in-home demand-response devices with utility operations and back office applications.

Shanghai Electric Cable Research and American Superconductor Corporation have expanded their strategic alliance, and Shanghai Electric Cable Research has just placed a new order for high temperature superconductor wire from AMSC. The wire will be used to develop a 30-meter long cable system, with AMSC providing consulting services to assist Shanghai Electric Cable Research.
In a company press release, AMSC Superconductors’ General Manager Dan McGahn commented on the expanded agreement:

BorgWarner just announced that it will be supplying Fiat Powertrain Technologies with its DualTronic Transmission Control System to be used in Fiat’s first dry dual-clutch transmission. The fuel-saving technology will be available on the Alfa Romeo MiTo late this year, and then its use will expand to include many Fiat, Lancia and Alfa mid-sized C and D segment models starting next year.

Comverge (COMV), a demand response provider, released mixed results after the bell today. On the EPS side they reported .28/share (beating estimates by .04) and revenues of $33 million was right in line with expectations. With a revenue growth decrease of 22% over the year ago quarter, that stops a streak of 4 consecutive quarters of accelerating revenue growth. American Superconductor Corporation just announced that it has received an order from Southern California Edison for its its pad-mounted Distribution Static VAR Compensator (“dSVC”) solution. Southern California Edison will use this product as part of its "Circuit of the Future" project.

Echelon just announced the launch of its new product LonWorks 2.0. LonWorks 2.0 is a new platform for smart networks that the company says is faster, cheaper and easier to use than earlier systems were. The new system is compatible with existing LonWorks products, and is geared toward the commercial building sector, especially small buildings and companies who are trying to retrofit existing systems to make them more energy efficient.
