Energy Focus (EFOI) reported after the bell today and posted a narrower loss of .17/share (3 cents better than expectations). Revenues surged over the year ago quarter to $8.5 million but $5.3 million of that was due to their acquisition of Stones River Companies, so take out the SRC results and you really have a company that really isn’t making any progress.

Stones River Companies, which Energy Focus (EFOI) recently acquired has received five new lighting contracts totaling $2.5 million. Two contracts are for the upgrade of two universities, involving the retrofit and replacement with energy efficient lighting with the other three contracts for upgrading the lighting at an elementary school, a hospital and several army facilities. The work is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

The company announced that its new subsidiary has been awarded $12.3 million in new contracts across seven projects for efficient lighting retrofits which will reduce energy use and improve light quality. Energy Focus, Inc just announced that they have signed a letter of intent to purchase Stones River Companies. The purchase of the Nashville, Tennessee-based company will give them access to the $100 billion market in the public sector for energy-efficient lighting. Energy Focus, Inc just announced that it has inked a $3.1 million, two-year contract with the DuPont-University of Delaware Very High Efficiency Solar Cell (VHESC) Consortium to develop, cheap, high-efficiency solar modules. Energy Focus, Inc just announced that it has signed a $1.4 million contract with the US Navy. Under the contract, Energy Focus will develop, produce and supply LED lighting fixtures to be used on Virginia Class attack submarines.
