A-Power Energy (APWR) Misses Badly Again, Stock Down Sharply Premarket

NRG Energy (NRG) To Exelon (EXC): No Deal

NRG Energy just announced that its Board of Directors has rejected Exelon’s revised offer for the company. The vote was unanimous and was based on the belief that Exelon is undervaluing NRG, even with its revised offer, with was equivalent to $27 per share. House Extends Solar, Wind, Green Energy Tax Credits..

The StreetInsider.com is reporting that there are rumors that the House has also voted to extend the tax credits for solar, wind and other renewable energies… Remember the Senate passed the bill a few days ago.  I’ll have an update soon.

Senate Extends Green Energy Tax Credits & Solar Is the Big Winner

News is out that the Senate has extended $18 billion in tax credits for renewable energy sources but it sill needs to be approved by the House which is expected.  The energy tax credits are part of a much larger bill, but here is the energy portion:

American Superconductor Corporation announced the launch of its new PowerModule PM3000W Converter for wind turbines at the HUSUM WindEnergy 2008 industry conference. The new conductor is a breakthrough because it is easily customizable, and can be used in wind turbines with a wide range of generating capacity, from 750 KW to 6 MW. Xcel Energy (XEL) To Close 2 Coal-Fired Plants And Replace Them With Wind And Solar

The Rocky Mountain News reports that Xcel Energy Inc has voluntarily offered to shut down two coal-fired power plants to reduce emissions.  The company’s plans have been approved by state regulators, and the plants will close in 2010 and 2012.
