Hoku Materials (HOKU) Amends Supply Deal With Shanghai Alex New Energy

Hoku Materials just announced that it has amended a polysilicon supply contract with Shanghai Alex New Energy. Under the amended agreement, polysilcon amounts and financial details will stay the same, but the due date for delivery of the first shipment will be moved from the first quarter of 2010 to the third quarter of 2010.

Darling International (DAR) Completes Acquisition Of Sanimax Business

Darling International just announced that it has completed its acquisition of Sanimax’s rendering, grease collection and trap servicing business in Ohio and Indiana, along with some of its business in Pennsylvania and Michigan. This provides an additional source of raw materials for Darling’s food by-products recycling business.

Tri-Tech Holding (TRIT) Gets $2 Million China Waste Water Treatment Contract

Tri-Tech (TRIT) announced this morning it received a $2 million contract to upgrade (including design, equipment procurement, installation and startup) a wastewater treatment plant in Xinle City which will improve the plant from Class 2 to Class 1A standards, churning out cleaner water in the process.  Not clean enough for drinking however.  Class 1A water is only good enough for irrigation and toilets!  The plant, with a daily capacity of 40K metric tons, will better … Read the rest

Kandi Technologies (KNDI) is surging about 15% in premarket trading today after announcing it has formed a strategic alliance with China Potevio/CNOOC New Energy and Power (aka “Alliance For Chinese Electric Vehicle Development and Commercialization”) to speed up the commercialization and adoption of electric cars in China.

Altairnano (ALTI) Falls Below NASDAQ’s Minimum $1 Share Price

Altairnano just announced that it has received notice from the NASDAQ stock exchange it is in violation of Rule 5550(a)(2) because its stock price fell below a $1.00 from November 9 through December 1st.

SunEdison (WFR) To Build PV Installations in New Mexico For Xcel (XEL)

SunEdison, a subsidiary of MEMC Electronic Materials, just announced that it has been selected by Xcel Energy’s subsidiary Southwestern Public Service Company to build five 10 MW solar PV installations in New Mexico, for a total of 50 MW of solar power.

Under the terms of the agreement, SunEdison will finance and build the installations and Xcel will buy the power under a 20-year purchase agreement.
