Hoping to increase adoption of its lithium-titanate battery systems, Altairnano just announced the release of an application kit that will allow OEMs to test the product in simulated real-world operating conditions.
The application kit will consist of a 50 ampere-hour battery module, connection and control unit and a netbook computer for controlling and monitoring the system. It will allow OEMs to test a variety of voltage and amperage configurations.

Altair Nanotechnologies has just announced that it has received a new $850,000 follow-on order for its advanced lithium-ion battery modules from Proterra. The batteries will be used in Proterra’s electric and hybrid transit buses, especially the electric 35-foot Proterra FCBE 35 transit buses.

Altairnano just announced that it has received a Small Business Innovation Research grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Technology . The grant will be used to develop better-performing energy storage options for the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), a contract valued at $100,000. Altair (ALTI) the lithium battery maker for electric cars reported another quarterly loss of .07/share but beat estimates by a couple pennies on revenue of 1.9 million (vs consensus of 1.65 million).
