A Cash For Clunkers Pure Play: LKQ Corp (LKQX)

Army Testing Aerovironment’s (AVAV) New 800kW EV Charger

GE CEO Immelt & John Doerr: "US Falling Behind On Green Energy"

Yesterday in the Washington Post, General Electric (GE) CEO Jeff Immelt and famed venture capitalist John Doerr wrote an op ed piece highlighting the failure of the US to take the lead in green energy and the emergence of China as the leader.

– they spend 10x what the US does as a % of GDP on green energy

GT Solar (SOLR) Reports Solid Quarter, But Misses Estimates

GT Solar (SOLR) reported earnings results after the bell today that were quite good, but missed analyst estimates.  The company reported an EPS of .05/share which was 67% higher than the year ago quarter, but shy of the analyst estimate of .06/share.  Revenues of $72 million missed the analyst estimate of $86 million, but was also an improvement over the year ago quarter by 26%.

Otter Tail (OTTR) Holding Up Despite Awful Earnings, Optimistic About Wind Energy

Here are the lowlights for the Otter Tail (OTTR) quarter.  The company reports an EPS of .07/share, missing estimates by .04/share and under performing from the year ago quarter by 36%.  Revenues missed estimates badly as well coming in at $247 million vs the estimates of $304 million and representing a 24% drop from the year ago quarter.  To top it off, the company is lowering guidance for 2009 to .70 – 1.10 from .80 … Read the rest

What’s Up With Converted Organics (COIN)?

Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE) Gets Central City Plant Online

Green Plains Renewable Energy just announced that they have now gotten their Central City, Nebraska ethanol plant online, according to DomesticFuel.com. The plant, which has not been running since November 2008, was purchased from Verasun when Verasun went bankrupt. Green Plains’ plant in Ord, Nebraska, which was purchased at the same time, was put back into service in the middle of last month.

MEMC Electronic Materials (WFR) Ordered To Pay BP Solar (BP) In Lawsuit

MEMC Electronic Materials was ordered to pay over $8.8 million in a legal dispute with BP  Solar, according to the St. Louis Business Journal. The judgement against MEMC came on Friday after a jury ruled that MEMC had violated a supply agreement with BP back in 2006 and 2007.
