With Quantum Fuel’s (QTWW) Help, Jesse James Sets New Land Speed World Record For Hydrogen Car

Last week, Jesse James (of West Coast Choppers fame) set a new land speed world record at 199.712 MPH with a hydrogen fueled car, developed in part by Quantum Fuel Systems (QTWW), called the Streamliner.  The milestone event, which took place in the Mojave Desert, will be shown in your living rooms on Sunday, August 9th at 10 PM ET/PT on Spike TV.

Comverge (COMV) And Itron (ITRI) Announce Milestone in Collaboration

Comverge and Itron just announced that they have a reached a milestone in their smart grid collaboration. They have successfully integrated Comverge’s Apollo(TM) demand response platform with Itron’s Open Way(TM) advanced metering infrastructure. The integration will allow utilities to better communicate with energy management devices for demand response events and to manage demand on the grid during times of heavy usage.

LDK Solar (LDK) Hits Milestone In Plant Construction

LDK Solar just announced that is has finished building its first 5,000 metric ton train in its new polysilicon plant in Xinyu, China. Once completed, the plant will have an annual  capacity of 15,000 metric tons.

Greenhunter Biofuels (GRH) To Sell Biofuels Refinery

Greenhunter Biofuels just announced that it is putting its Houston biofuels refinery up for sale. They are also amending a credit agreement relating to the plant. Under the amended agreement, WestLB AG, the lender, has agreed to give Greenhunter Energy until November of 2009 to repay the loan before declaring them to be in default.

Aerovironment (AVAV) Beats On EPS & Revenues, Sees Opportunity In Defense & Electric Cars Infrastructure

Aerovironment (AVAV) is pushing higher in after hours trading after beating both EPS and revenue estimates by a small margin.  While EPS came in 10% lower than the year ago quarter, it did beat analyst estimates by a penny a share.  Revenues increased 18% over the year ago quarter and also beat estimates (by about 5%).  The company attributed the revenue increase to stronger sales in the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (up $9.4 million) and Efficient … Read the rest

Ford, Nissan, Tesla Motors Get Billions In Govt Cash For Electric Vehicles

Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) Enters Florida Market, Gets 10 Yr CNG Contract

Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) has entered the Florida market. PowerSecure (POWR) Gets Contract For Smart Grid Enabled Distributed Power Systems
