Geothermal Leader Ormat Technologies (ORA) Surges On Great Quarter

Ormat Technologies (ORA), the geothermal 800lb gorilla, reported great earnings results this morning beating EPS estimates by .07/share and 33% over the year ago quarter.  Revenues surged 44% over the year ago quarter and beat estimates by $11 million at $99.9 million.  This was a very impressive quarter.  I’ve been wanting to get in on a pull back but it has yet to do so. Energy Conversion Devices (ENER) Reports Mixed Results

Evergreen Solar (ESLR) Releases New Black-Framed String Ribbon Solar Panel

Evergreen Solar just announced the release of its new black-framed string ribbon solar panel. The new product is identical to the ES-A Series line of 200, 205 and 210 W solar panels, except with a black frame instead of silver, allowing customers to create a more aesthetically pleasing display. Suntech (STP) To Build A Manufacturing Plant In The US

Suntech has announced its intention to build a manufacturing plant in the United States, taking advantage of incentives from both the federal government and state governments. EnerDel (HEV) May Supply Lithium Ion Batteries For Fisker Karma

Popular Mechanics Uses UQM Technologies’ (UQM) Electric Propulsion System To Modify Dodge Challenger

Popular Mechanics selected UQM Technologies ‘ 125 electric propulsion system to power their Eco+Muscle hybrid Dodge Challenger R/T car. The project involved modifying a normal Dodge Challenger to include 2 separate powertrains: a combustion engine for highway use and an electric propulsion system for in-town use.

Clean Energy Fuels To Purchase Exterran’s Gas Station Business

Clean Energy Fuels just announced that it is buying Exterran’s  natural gas fueling station business. The $5.9 million deal includes all of Exterran’s natural gas stations as well as Exterran’s four maintenance contracts with transit operators.

In an article from Reuters, Clean Energy Fuel’s CEO Andrew Littlefair commented on the purchase:
