ReneSola (SOL) reported a narrower than expected Q2 loss of $0.03, beating estimates by .03/share but came up short on the revenue side, posting $82.6 million vs. the consensus of $90.23 million (and more than a 50% plunge over the year ago quarter). On the bright side, it appears the company is doing a good job of cutting costs and increasing efficiencies.

Another tough quarter for JA Solar (JASO) but it was a bit better than last quarter as the company saw a pick up in revenues. Unfortunately, profits are still nowhere in sight. The company missed Wall St estimates by a wide margin reporting a loss (excluding the one time charge for stock compensation) of .13/share vs the estimate of a .06/loss, despite beating on the revenue side with $88 million. Clearly, this is still a … Read the rest
The one-two combo of being a China green stock has proved to be a winning combo of late and one such stock is relatively off the radar. The company is SmartHeat (HEAT). The stock broke out of a base Monday with heavy volume ahead of its earnings report this morning. The results? The company posted a quarter over quarter EPS surge of 267%. Granted, it’s a very small company, but that may not be the … Read the rest
Cree has been on a roll in the past several months with quite a few upgrades, increasing awareness about LED’s and Cree’s leadership role, not to mention the doubling of its stock price. Let the good times roll. The company reported a strong quarter after the bell today and the stock is surging about 7% after hours on the news. They beat the EPS estimate by a penny, posting .18/share in profit which is a … Read the rest
Advanced Battery Technologies (ABAT) reported their earnings during market hours today and missed on both EPS and revenues. Excluding one time gains, the company earned just .03/share which missed the analyst estimate of .08/share and represents a 67% plunge over the year ago quarter. Despite an increase in revenues due to the Wuxi Autocycle acquisition, the company still missed estimates there as well, reporting $13.8 million. That’s a miss of nearly $2 million, but is … Read the rest
The green stock earnings continue to come in fast and furious and I’m a bit behind .. Zoltek (ZOLT), the maker of carbon components for wind turbines missed analyst estimates badly and swung to a loss in the quarter. Analysts had expected a profit of .07/share in the quarter, but the company posted a .04/share loss which indicates significant deterioration over the year ago quarter when the company posted a .12/profit. Revenues continue to plummet … Read the rest
China Bio Energy (CBEH) reported earnings today and the company beat on both EPS and revenues. EPS came in at .25/share vs the expectations of .19/share (matching the year ago quarter) on revenues of $65.2 million which was a 12% increase over the year ago quarter. After an initial pop in the stock this morning, it’s off the highs. Not too surprising considering the run it’s had over the past few weeks.
There’s that earnings headline discrepancy again. Look around at the Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) earnings headlines and you’ll see just about all publications reporting “wider than expected losses”. What they’re including are those one time charges which analyst estimates don’t include, so it’s misleading. Take out one time costs (the non GAAP measure) and the company actually beat estimates by .06/share, reporting a loss of .01/share. Revenue did miss the analyst estimates of $31.46 million, … Read the rest
It always amazes me at how many ways an earnings report can be spun based on if the company beat analyst estimates and whether the analysis includes one time charges or not. Here at GreenStocksCentral.com I prefer to look at organic growth (exclude one time gains and costs) and since analysts typically exclude one time costs/gains in their calculations as well, it makes sense to do the same for comparison sake. Such is the case … Read the rest
Wow, what a week for Rentech (RTK). The company announced late last week that their synthetic fuel was approved for use in jet fuel and this morning they’re announcing record quarterly profits of .22/share on revenues that surged 50% over the year ago quarter to $91.4 million, sending the stock soaring again over 50%. The company is attributing the record quarter to higher product pricing and favorable weather conditions and now expects that EPS will … Read the rest
