NRG Energy (NRG) Offers Electric Car Charging Plan To Texas Customers

NRG Energy just announced that it plans to offer an unlimited electric car charging plan to its Texas customers. Starting next year, Houston residents will be able to sign up for the plan, which will cost $60-80 per month and allow unlimited charging at home and at charging stations throughout the city.  It also includes the cost of leasing a home charging station and emergency charging for drivers who get stranded.

Toshiba To Supply Drive Motors For Ford (F) Electric Cars, Will Expand US Manufacturing

Another Kandi Technologies (KNDI) EV Receives Chinese Government Approval

Kandi Technologies just announced that another one of its EV models, the Model KD5010XXYEV, has been approved for sale in China. In a , the company wrote that it expects this model to be much widely adopted than the previous models it had for sale, since it is well-suited for both families and government agencies such as post offices and power companies.

Capstone Turbines (CPST) Announces Line of Hybrid Electric Drive Solutions, Supply Agreement With CalMotors

Capstone Turbines just announced that is now offering a full line of hybrid electric drive solutions, called Capstone Drive Solutions. To support the new product line, the company also announced a supply agreement with CalMotors, which will supply Capstone with inverter drives and traction motors for use in the systems.

Tesla & Toyota (TM) To Develop EV Prototype By Year End, But Partnership Hinges On Tesla IPO

Kyodo News (via Street Insider) is reporting that Toyota and Tesla will co-develop a prototype electric car by year end and this is according to Toyota sources.

A123 Systems (AONE) Inks Another Lithium Battery Supply Deal With Navistar (NAV)

A123 Systems (AONE) announced last night an additional lithium battery supply deal with Navistar for the Navistar-Modec EV joint venture.  It adds to the original lithium battery supply agreement announced in March.

Ener1 (HEV) Gets China Battery Joint Venture Deal, $65 Million Equity Investment
